Personal Quotes
I think you have to be very secure as an actor to escape yourself - to revisit someone's past, whether you're portraying another person or creating someone, and then to come back to who you are and not bring those emotions with you.

Parties don't thrill me. I like sitting at home with a tub of Chunky Monkey ice cream watching Big Brother or Friends.

I want to have lots of bodyguards around me and be surrounded by beautiful women while watching my brother play at Wimbledon.

(2011) Being an actor in L.A. is like being in prison: you go, you serve your time, you try to replicate Johnny Depp's career-and then you move to Paris

(2011) L.A. is growing on me a little bit, but it's still a shit-hole. I think it's this insidious pool where nearly everyone lives in fear. Geographically it's fantastic: in a half hour, you can be on the beach in one direction, go snowboarding in another, or go out into the desert. But socially it's disgusting. I wish they'd just run all the cunts out.

(2011) You hear a lot of people say they want to make art in this industry, but so few people actually fucking do it. I was disillusioned by [Hollywood] at the time, but now I've come to accept that's just the way things are: it's called show business, not show art.

(2011) I don't go out, I don't drink, and I don't do drugs.

(2011) I think my Wikipedia (page) is full of bullshit because I actually don't have anything cool or interesting to be said about me. I've heard I'm called a bad boy, or difficult-maybe that's because I don't take any bullshit.

Mini Biography
Adelaide born actress and model Teresa Palmer has gathered some impressive film credits. Born in 1986, Teresa completed high school at Mercedes College in 2003, where she was a popular student who was well-known for her practical jokes. She worked in a Cotton On outlet in Rundle Mall until she was discovered and cast on the spot - without an audition - in her feature film debut and breakthrough role in 2:37 (2006). Made by first-time writer/director/producer Murali K. Thalluri, the film competed in the 2006 Cannes Film Festival in "Un Certain Regard" and chronicles the lives of six students over the course of day and ends in a devastating suicide.

Teresa immediately went to work on back to back film projects including December Boys (2007) opposite "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe; a coming of age story about four adolescent orphans, based on the book by Michael Noonan and directed by Rod Hardy (Robinson Crusoe (1997), Buffalo Girls (1995) (TV), "The X-Files" (1993) and "The Practice" (1997)).

Teresa also stars as stripper-turned-criminal "Dale" in the UK/Australian co-production Restraint (2008), a film noir/psychological thriller which follows the plight of a pair of fugitives on-the-run from a murder scene. Directed by David Denneen, the film also features former Calvin Klein model Travis Fimmel and UK actor Stephen Moyer.

In 2006, Teresa worked with Japanese director Takashi Shimizu on the Sony Pictures production The Grudge 2 (2006). Set in Tokyo, the horror sequel to the box office hit The Grudge (2004) also stars Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jennifer Beals. Later that year, she signed on to play the female lead in Doug Liman's action fantasy flick Jumper (2008), but was subsequently replaced by Rachel Bilson.

Early 2007 saw her star opposite former real-life boyfriend Topher Grace as the love interest in the upcoming retro comedy Take Me Home Tonight (2011). Shortly after filming ended, Teresa decided to move permanently from Adelaide to Los Angeles following a public split from her then-boyfriend of two years, Australian Rules football star Stuart Dew. Teresa was due to play a small part in George Miller's doomed superhero film "Justice League: Mortal", but the production fell through after months of problems. Teresa briefly dated her "Justice League: Mortal" co-star Adam Brody in early 2008; later that year, she had a relationship with UK comedian Russell Brand, whom she met on the set of her latest film, Bedtime Stories (2008). Bedtime Stories is a Disney children's comedy starring Lucy Lawless, Guy Pearce, and Keri Russell and was released on Christmas 2008. As of January 2009, she is back with former on-off boyfriend, Topher Grace, and soon to star in an advertising campaign for Aussie clothing chain "Just Jeans".

Personal Quotes
What a world we live in. I want to be incredibly close to the heart of it all. To live honestly, truthfully and to be completely present is the ultimate enterprise. And right now, I couldn't possibly ask for anything more. I am a very lucky girl.

Having a dance background, I became used to rejection at an early age. Dance is very competitive, especially for a sensitive person like me. But I realized it's better not to take it so seriously. If you beat yourself up, it's hard to keep going.

[on "Glee" (2009) compared to other high school television shows] I think that it shows that regardless of who you are and what group you belong to, there are so many emotions behind each person in high school. Sometimes with teens, writers or directors change them and make to them be simple individuals, you're either the jock or the popular kid or the nerd. Everybody has those shades to them. This show, it really expands upon vulnerability and excitement and anger - all the experiences that you probably actually go through in high school.

Every day is an opportunity to fall or hurt yourself.

I definitely wasn't cool in high school. I really wasn't. I did belong to many of the clubs and was in leadership on yearbook and did the musical theater route, so I had friends in all areas. But I certainly did not know what to wear, did not know how to do my hair, all those things.

[Her public apology towards the controversial photos taken of her and "Glee" (2009) co-stars, Cory Monteith and Lea Michele, for GQ Magazine] In the land of Madonna, Britney, Miley, "Gossip Girl" (2007), and other public figures and shows that have pushed the envelope and challenged the levels of comfort in their viewers and fans... we are not the first. Now, in perpetuating the type of images that evoke these kind of emotions, I am sorry...If you are hurt or these photos make you uncomfortable, it was never our intention. And if your eight-year-old has a copy of our GQ cover in hand, again I am sorry. But I would have to ask, how on earth did it get there?...I understand that in today's world of advanced technology, the Internet, our kids can be subject to very adult material at the click of a button. But there are parental locks, and ways to get around this.

I think that as an artist, the more that you can do to diversify, and kind of challenge yourself, the more you grow.

[on having a nose job]: I had convinced my mom to let me go to my first party. I was able to be there for an hour with two of my friends... [But] it accidentally turned into an argument and instead of the girl punching the guy, she wound up to the side and punched me... [There was] blood everywhere. The first time I didn't go to the doctor because I didn't want to tell my mom what had happened and she would never let me out of the house. I found out about it year ago because things were getting worse and everything was getting really nasally and I went to a doctor. He said, "When did you break your nose? You have a horrible deviated septum." And the second time, I couldn't get it fixed because we were in the middle of doing this concert tour and we were filming. We had a day off and I met up with some of my friends and we were dancing. And again, there was another collision of sorts - I must be turning too quickly, people don't see me coming or something - but it's fixed now!

I started ballet when I was 3, and the movies that my mom would show me were all musicals. And that was something that was so prevalent in that era of film was musicals. So I thought maybe I could do it. I just moved to this new school, I was like, "Nobody really knows me; this might be fun to get involved in," and so I auditioned and I got it, and that's the first time I sang and I was so nervous and it worked out. And then in middle school there was a few summer theater camps that I did, but it wasn't really until senior year of high school that I got into the acting class full time and loved it and knew I wanted to move to LA and took it one step at a time and took acting classes every day and auditions and smaller roles.

Timothy Olyphant

Timothy Olyphant Picture
Date of Birth
20 May 1968, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA

Birth Name
Timothy David Olyphant

Nickname
Olafantastic

Height
6' (1.83 m)

Mini Biography
From Timothy Olyphant's first screen appearances, such as his two minute bit in First Wives Club, to Nicko, whose presence at times dwarfed the island in Perfect Getaway, he has been a force to be reckoned with.

Born in Hawaii, Timothy was raised in Modesto California. He is of Scottish descent. His mother, Katherine, and his father Bevan. He has an older brother, Andy Olyphant, who is in A&R for Warner Brother Records, and a cousin, Matthew Olyphant, who was the lead singer for the punk rock group, Fetish, and is also an artist. Timothy quickly became Modesto, California's favorite son, competing as a pro swimmer and excelling at drawing. It was by chance that he enrolled in an acting course as an elective and decided to pursue an acting career. He took his family and headed to New York City, where he studied the craft and began auditioning for roles. From the beginning he tried to choose diversified roles and take chances with every genre and always approached everything he did with commitment, humor and grace.

Timothy is married to his college sweetheart, Alexis Knief, and together they raise three children, one son and two daughters in California. He has managed to keep his personal life out of the tabloids. He obviously has his priorities straight, as this is no easy task in Hollywood.

Careerwise, Timothy dominated the small screen with his riveting portrayal of sheriff Seth Bullock in HBO's hit drama, Deadwood. He now personifies intensity as complex Kentucky Marshal, Raylan Givens, in FX's Justified. On the big screen, in this year's The Crazies, he had the chance to infuse his character with doubts, fears and humaneness in an inhumane situation. Mr. Olyphant proved he could carry a major movie on his talent alone.

Upcoming is I Am Number Four, a Steven Speilberg sci-if thriller in which Tim provides the adult mentorship, taking a back seat to the teen cast.

Personal Quotes
Istanbul was unbelievable! What a city! I could go back there again and again. That was a fascinating place. It was a very foreign experience. But yeah, that is one of the perks of the job. You get to go places that you'd never imagine and see a part of the world you hadn't considered before. It was great. (On filming portions of Hitman in Istanbul)

(on Deadwood) The fact is, this job is always fun, always a good time, but it's not that often that you can be as proud of it as I am of this experience. We just had a great time making it too.

Well, bottom line with A Perfect Getaway was, I thought "I'm going to have a lot of fun at work." That part was gonna get me an opportunity to play and have fun. There's something great when you read something and you have some sense of, "I know what to do here. Give me a little room. This is going to be a lot of fun." And then when we got Steve [Zahn], "Well, now it's going to be a ton of fun, because there's somebody who's going to be so fun to bounce off of." The quality of the actors I got to work with on that made it seem like I was getting away with something.

[on committing to a TV series] I can't speak for everybody, but for me, if you told actors that you wanted to do a TV series and it was going to run three years and that's it, you're done, I think the line would get a lot longer, without question. It's really easy to fall into this habit of, "Ahh, I don't know what I'm going to do next." You think every job is your last job, but there's another side to that, which is that it never gets any better than when you first get a new job. It's the most fun. When somebody says, "You got the job," that's the most fun, and from that point forward, it's so exciting, but part of the fun is when the job is over and you move on. The danger with success in television is "Haven't we shot this episode before? Didn't we shoot this scene two years ago?" I think it's really hard to just take the risk from season to season and not be afraid to give the audience something completely different, and trust that they'll come with you.
